$26 (cart included), played on Tuesday, September 2020 at 8:50 AM

Located outside of Holland, we found this water laden 27 hole layout ($29 18/cart) and decided to give it a shot. With four (4) tee boxes on each of the three (3) nines you can have your choice of 3,319yds / 35.2 / 131 on the Blue course down to 2,522yds / 32,8 / 124 on the Gold course, from the Par 36 tips. Winding Creek gets it name from the numerous creeks and ponds that show up on 5-6 holes of each nine (9) hole layouts, being very well positioned as well. The well maintained fairways vary between generous, narrow and tight chutes that have scattered trees, being woods framed. Good positioned sand traps show up on about half of the holes and were in playable condition. Greens were smooth and soft but showed many ball damage marks from un-repaired divots. Our 8:50am tee time had five (5) foursomes in front of us on the Front 9 White course (3,166/35.2/131) so the starter advised us to start with the Back 9 Blue course (3,319/36.5/131), as it was wide open. The #10 is a 430yd Hcp 6 Par 4 that is tree lined 200yds in to the raised green. Number #11 Par 4 has a narrow tree lined tee box chute to a equally matched fairway to a raised green 343yds away. The #11 is a tricky 352yd dogleg and tree lined fairway with a creek/swamp located in front of the green. Hitting a 190-210yd draw to the RH side of the fairway, will give you a good look at the green. The #13 486yd Par 5 has pond RH side at 190-220yds out and two (2) traps guarding the front of the green. so no bounce on's here. The 190-97yds Par 3 at #14 also has two (2) traps in the front so pick your friendly yardage. The Hcp 2 hole is #15 a dogleg left Par 4 that has forced tee carry of 120yds, creek crossing at 200yds on the corner and a LH front trap at the raised green. The #16 485yd Par 5 is short on yardage but narrow tree lined fairway can grab those balls. The #17 is another 200-108yd Par 3, but being short here has a nice chipping area. Finishing on a straight narrow 436yd Par 4 has fairway traps both sides at 190 - 220yds out and left side green trap. We made the turn in 65 minutes and had Seniors coming down #9 fairway. With three (3) groups on #1 hole it was either wait 30minutes OR play the wide open Back 9 again. We decided to play the Back 9 again and return to play the White course at a later date. We finished our 2nd nine (9) holes in 70 minutes as we passed one (1) walked on #16 Par 5. My son Barry ended up shooting 47/47 w/33putts and I had 44/44 w/32putts, so we repeated the same mistakes again, only on different holes. Course is very flat and with the many water areas it tends to be very soft in many places. Has the standard 100 - 200 cement blocks down the middle and markers on the Par 3's. Lots of foursome Seniors play here so plan on 4.5hr rounds if playing in the late AM, as I was told later.

Would travel: 20-30 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
